Can you give Sugar a happy ending? This is a very sad story for the Gentlest little dog you will every meet. Little Sugar was abandoned in a vacant house with new puppies and no food. The last 8 weeks of her life have been spent in the County shelter, but her babies have all gone to new homes and she was left all alone. Sugar was such a good Mommy and took very good care of her babies. Everyone at this shelter loves this little dog and is praying she will find a loving for-ever home like she deserves. With her babies gone she is discouraged and depressed in her kennel. She is kind, gentle, smart and loving....maybe she is not the prettiest dog on the outside but her little heart is made of pure gold. No one has taken her home and Sugar cant understand why she is still there all alone with when her heart is bursting with love.....All she wants is a family of her own and she will be the best little friend anyone could want. UPDATE: I have been keeping tabs on her and today was Sugars last day at the shelter....her time was up and the shelter is full. I could not bear to see this gentle little one put to sleep after everyone else in her life had let her down. I pulled her today from the shelter and was not suprised at all that she is even sweeter than I orginally thought. She sat on my lap all the way home, shaking softly and peeping out the window, ocassionally looking up at me with her big brown eyes and thanking me with soft little kisses. I petted her softly and felt the knots on her spine and each and every little bone on her thin weary body. Her fur is dull and dry and she is thin and haggard from the lack of nutrition and producing milk for her babies. Anyone that takes Sugar into their family will be lucky indeed when this humble little dog bestows her love and gratitude on them. She is an amazing dog....magnificently behaved. Per the shelter they took her out of her kennel twice a day for a few minutes to give her a break from the puppies and she never ONCE pottied in her kennel....she waited until they took her outside to the grass. Sugar must go to a family that will love and protect her always and reassure her that all humans are not bad. SHe has had a hard life in her short two years and deserves to have a rock solid forever home. She is slowly coming back to life, loves to run and play in the yard with her foster friends. We are feeding her a good diet and she is gaining weight and the shine is returning to her coat. and her eyes! As low maintanence dog as you can find, perfectly behaved. Please email for an adoption application for her.
