We are looking for an exceptional Home for IzaBelle, aka Lizzy. She is a special needs pup who came from a horrible abuse-neglect case and was extremely crippled when we brought her into our Rescue. After months of good nutrition and a Fabulous Foster Mom and Dad who have diligently taught her to be a normal dog and taken her to Physical Therapy and walked and exercised her and taught her how run and play, Lizzy is now walking fine on her own and is an extraordinary dog with a big loving heart. Here is the story about the little crippled flipper dog who has blossomed into a Princess after getting moving in with her Foster Parents. We rescued her at 5 months from a hi kill shelter...Now a year later This gorgeous 38 lb American Staffordshire Terrier is still without a home. She came from a very painful start in life from a police confiscation case for animal abuse and cruelty. . Lizzy was locked inside a tiny crate for the first six months of her life and her lower jaw and all four legs are somewhat misshapened, earning her the name of FLIPPER for her unusual way of trying to walk on her bent legs.. But out brindle beauty doesn't know her legs are unique. Lizzy loves car rides, toys, and Nylabones. Lizzy can climb short stairways and jump up on the sofa to lay her head in your lap. This resilient girl with the radiant personality has a zest for life and a gentle inquisitive nature. She is extremely loving and her soft brown eyes and somewhat fragile looks will melt your heart. Her perfect family would not be too active, but they would be looking for a loving and affectionate companion Lizzy does ok with SOME medium to large dogs but get anxious around little dogs and toddlers SO she cannot go to a home with little dogs or cats..I think she is afraid of big dogs and so puts up a shield and growls at them at first meeting. She is somewhat of a dominant dog by nature so would do great as an only dog or with an active but gentle big dog. Lizzy would do best with an experienced Bully owner who will be patient and continue with her exercise.
